I don't know but the bucket thing behind it is kind of scary.

Question

Using as a clue what appears to be a knitting basket behind it, I'm guessing it's some sort of device to hold thread or yarn.

My wife has done a lot of knitting sweaters over the years and it looks like a form to hold the sweater in the correct shape after it has been washed for the first time.

Just a guess though.

I hope you don't mind but I rotated and enhanced your photo to show it better. Is there lettering on the black piece I circled in red?

I'd say it's a knife or scythe sharpener. The black frame is mostly rigid except for small adjustments at the top and the handwheels at the side change the angles of the X-bars, which would correspond to the included angle of the cutting edge of the blade being sharpened.

[edit 5 min later...] Looks indeed like the contraption below, which is a Euro-style knife sharpener. These are on Amazon.

It’s for pressing the muffler bearings onto the phitzer valve , after that it attaches to the flux capacitor.
A good video for the first part!

Looks to be used to place up to 2 spools (of wire probably) one on each side. You then can tighten the spring loaded center for the right amount of resistance.

Any veteran electricians recognize this??
