I'm that obnoxious guy that parks way out from everybody (I don't mind walking 200 yards) and park in the center of 4 parking spots. Everybody else wants up close anyway so, what the heck.

Too fine a machine there sir to take any chances.
Thanks! I was actually back a little further than the pic shows. I never park in a parallel sport unless its at the end or beginning.

The way I look at it is, right now the paint isn't the best. It certainly look good, but in a few years I'll be tearing it down completely (again) and redoing everything. By then I wont want to leave it anywhere, so right now I'm taking it everywhere!

That looks to be Bucaneer Red. The only made two Formula SD455s (one 4 speed and one automatic) in that color. Unless it's the Nunzi Navajo Orange automatic car (one of one).

In that first picture, do I see daylight under the front tire? A mini wheelie into the shop?

Just noticed the clip-on plastic door edge guards too. Thought they were supposed to be discarded by the dealers, but the '72 Nova SS I bought new was delivered with them too.

Nice little burn-outs!

Great photos Mike! What I love about them is the way they show the proper geometry of the exhaust pipe tips and, yes, the traction bars as well.

The door edge guards were supposed to be removed by the "set up" guy. When I first started at the Pontiac dealership I was assigned the Bill of Lading ( check them off as the came off the truck for damage) and set ups on new cars. I was told by the shop foreman to leave them on to remove any "come backs" due to salesman "carelessness " ( he had much more flamboyant words). I saw some come back in 3-5-7 years with the guards Still on the car .

When I bought my SD Formula it had the door protectors on it, only they were black plastic. I have them in the glove box for safe keeping. It does still have the seat adjustment knob protectors on it.

He must have added them before you bought it as I looked at that car in his garage about 1 year prior and they were not on there.

Did we ever figure out what color it is? red or orange? Or the origin of the photos? Is it the Nunzi car?

It's definitely Buccaneer Red. I've blown up the pics, corrected the color temp, etc. If anyone has the invoices for the two Buccaneer Red cars, maybe they can match this info up. I cannot make out the dealer name on the trunk lid, but it appears to be three parts like a name, such as "Jack S Thompson". The temporary license plate tag may also be a clue as to the state. Zooming in on the interior, the car has the standard steering wheel, no Rally Gauges. The standard hubcaps may also be a clue as to which Buccaneer Red car this is.

Massive torque was not optional on the SD-455, it was standard.

The SD Registry has 1 Buccaneer Red Formula, but it has Saddle int., auto, and supposedly Rally wheels.

The one not in it would be the manual trans one.
(with no info)

One Florentine Red Formula had dog dishes but burgundy interior, though.
(in the database)

That's definitely not Florentine Red. So I guess you solved the mystery - it's the four speed car.
