Gasman, rather than start a new topic, add to this one (as it has alot of responses to rarest options topic) so as to simplify searches in the future:

http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...d.php?t=483574

BTW, this is the first time I see a heater delete on a 69 GTO..Thanx!

I have a 1970 GTO that came from the factory with about 30 options. A few that I think are fairly rare are A46 power left bucket seat, C89 Dome reading lamp, D98 Body stripes, KO5 block heater, P17 spare tire cover, and C49 Electric rear defrost (heat grid in the glass). I think the most rare of those options is the Electric rear defrost. I live in Canada and have seen countless 1970 models over the years but don't recall seeing another with this option. Most like my 70 Judge had the rear blower motor. BTW 1970 was the first year for the C49 option on a GTO.

Printed in "The Legend", Dec. '06, 2,236 LeMans (I'm assuming GTOs too) received the electric rear window defogger. It shows a listing for the heavy duty frame, but no numbers are listed for '70.

not sure about '70 or '71 but in '72 when you have the rear defrost and a/c the cars came with 80 amp alts. that used an idler belt pulley that most people got rid of when the pulley bearing went bad. hard to come by these days. i had to have my power seat motor and relay re-wired as the motor was tired and the relay was bad. pricey things to have redone. i will make sure in the future that the seat track is properly lubricated to hopefully give the motor a long service life.

How about a 1971 4 speed Judge with electric door locks and power seat back releases? These options were together in a package. UPC# AU5/552. Pretty unusual.

I think that the idler belt pulley was used on the 80 amp alts. on Firebirds only not on GTO.

My 71 Judge has the electric rear window heater and G60x15 HoneyCombs. The G60x15's and electric rear window heater are called out for in the PHS docs and broadcast sheet.

i think alot of the 71 judges had this. my blue one that is just like a few others (yours, old pinion head roger, the first one built and a few other blue ones) has this. when i first bought the car and it had roll up windows and power door locks, i thought the original owner must have been a paranoid skitzo. (worried he might drive off a bridge and the windows wouldnt work if they were power and had to have power locks in case someone tried to car jack him he could quickly lock them).
