1100832 dates
What has everyone seen for available dates for the 832 alts?
The earlier (68) dates seem to be more commonly found then the Jan and later ones. From what I have seen, there are 3 or 4 Jan dates. There is supposedly a Feb 1 or 2 and there is a July G 24. On on another post I saw that someone had an Aug date? A lot of early TA owners that I have spoken to, say that their cars have Jan dated units. Which leads me to believe that Mar thru June units weren't made? |

My TA was made Oct. 22nd of 69 and has a 9G24 dated 1100832 alternator. It also has the back half for a 1970 which I have seen on several other late cars.

The first versions of the internally regulated alternator had a very high failure rate. Thus, most failed and were replaced early on making them hard to find today.

I realize this is a really old thread/ topic but just curious what replaced them? Did they switch the car over to a external regulated alt? (I have heard that but can’t confirm it) Or a superseded part number internal SI alt?

I thought the internally regulated alternators weren't used until the 1971 model year.

1970 was standard on Firebirds.
1969 was optional on Firebirds.
