Default 68-72 A-Body 12 Bolt Posi 4.10 Ratio

Complete drum to drum 12 bolt posi, the axle code is CCF-1028B1 which i believe is a 70 Chevelle code. This is coming out of a 68 GTO project i'm just getting started on and will be switching back to the 8.2 10 bolt. The gear and posi unit look super nice, fluid was clean. Local pickup only, asking $850.00 or best (reasonable) offer.

my son has a 1970 lemans with the body off. the frame work was all done when he got it. i just took off the diff plate and find it is a 10 bolt, 39-14 gear which comes to 2.72 ratio. the brakes are all new parts, shoes, wheel cyl. springs and drums look to have been turned. i dont know what the ring dia is but he wants to change the ratio to either a 3.73 or 4.10 so i will need new gears and a locker or posi so it looks like it will cost about $800 to change it over. if he has what you need maybe you guys can do a trade of some sort.. bear with me as iam new to these older pontiacs ...

I'm interested if you change your mind on shipping.

I can't imagine what it would take in the way of packaging to ship this safely. I'm assuming it would have to be crated? I'm sure if it was just bolted to a pallet for all to see it would somehow disappear before it reached it's destination.

Chevelle and GTO use the SAME chassis-they will interchange.

Would a 70 Chevy rear fit a 67 GTO? I have a 70 Olds rear that was in my 67. What ratio is in it?

The 68-72 Chevelle 12 bolt should install in your 67 with no problems. This is a 4:10 ratio.

No one will steal it...That would be the least of my worries. They see ALOT of freight on pallets every day. Plus its logged and tracked, security is watching.

YOu might want to go to a PIANO dealer and get one of his piano pallets / crates...thats what I use...have six right now...really HD wood and cross braces.

I put HD caster on them for roll around pallets...perfect for rears.
