7040273 fast idle cam
The fast idle cam on my 7040273 is plastic. After searching other PY posts it appears that is incorrect. I have a blurry picture of a metal cam from another ‘70 7040273. Looks like 40800 but not sure about the last number. I wasn’t able to determine what the correct cam is. I want to replace the plastic one.
My vacuum break bracket has a broken ear too that needs to be replaced. What is the best replacement vacuum break available? |

All 1970-72 Pontiac Quadrajet fast idle cams are the same.
You should be able to find a 1968-69 RA ACDelco #7038239 pull-off to replace the obsolete 1970 #7042595 unit. The dual-action pull-off #7026214 (delayed choke) is for 1970 non-RA engines. |

Thanks! That’s a big help in tracking down parts for the rebuild.

I have my original carb #7028273 RA choke pulloff but would take another. Do you know of one anywhere? I would be surprised to find one. thanks

Thanks for the offer. I will try to take care of my original and look for one at least close in color to have as a spare.
