hey paul.
it runs, just have to get the alt. rebuilt (in shop now) and install the new external volt reg when i get it (bought it last week off ebay). then get dual exhaust.

not really into car shows anymore, and i hate driving far to go to one. mainly hang out in the sw subs. i even stopped going to lombard cruise nights and the oakbrook pontiac show. forget the geneva event, sounded good, just didn't want to drive up there. i like cruise nights out south here (orland, tinley, the palos heights annual one), they're free, and when i or the kids get bored i can just leave. lol!

i'll probably trailer the race car up to john piotrowski's gathering in boofoo libertyville next year. don't know if i'd drive the amb up there, no where near a show car.

later, eric

It may not be a show car but it sure is an attention getter! I'd bet that thing will draw a crowd wherever you take it!

WELL IT RUNS! CHARGES ALMOST 14V! NO LEAKS, ALL LIGHTS ARE WORKING. NOW I HAVE TO TEST DRIVE IT AROUND THE BLOCK TO SEE IF IT IS ROAD WORTHY. EVERYTHING LOOKS GOOD, AND I HOPE THE BRAKES ARE FINE. NO LEAKS EITHER. IF IT GOES WELL I THROW SOME GAS IN IT, AND MAKE AN APPOINTMENT FOR THE EXHAUST.

Yeah, I don't think I would even try to add a/c to that car. That would be quite a project. I think A/C equipped Ambulances also had seperate A/C (duct work) for the back too? I think it is fine just the way it is.

I think a 4" chop in the top, and a 2" suspension lowering is in order. I would etch skull and crossbones on the side windows and a grim reaper on the back.

ahh, maybe not.....................

i did that to my wife's old 78 camaro. i had to recut the firewall and block off a part of it to get it to work. it worked fine, still does after i sold the car this year, just needs to be re o-ringed. i saved the stuff just in case the next owner is willing to do that. not all a/c hearses/ambs had rear air. my 71 does and has a seperate system behind the driver's seat.

WELL I DROVE IT TO THE GAS STATION AND IT RUNS GOOD AND STOPS WELL. THE FRONT END NEEDS AN ALIGNMENT, FEELS A LITTLE LOOSE. I CAN'T GET DUAL EXHAUST, DUE TO THE DRIVESHAFT CENTER BEARING BRACE, SO A SINGLE EXHAUST SYSTEM WILL BE DONE ON THIS NEXT SATURDAY. IT'S NOT A RACE CAR RIGHT? LOL!

Looks Great! Awsome Car. I know what your are talking about on that carrier bearing brace. I have to have a new exhaust system on the Hearse and Had to stay with single exhaust. Didn't you have to have your carrier bearing replaced? How did you get it from?

i went to a local driveshaft shop and they located it for 225.00 shipped! had them redo thewhole thing. 485.00! yikes! it is not the common type of bearing.

I left Oregon 12 years ago, but in Eagle Creek, there used to be a 69 Catalina wagon with a big lift kit 4WD under it. I always thought a horror movie with that would have one upped Christine...... It was the Godzilla Cat From Hell for sure.....

Well, I hope to see your rig at a show someday..... Awesome job so far....
