3.42 was the standard ratio for a manual trans car.... My '67 GP is a 3.42..

Yes, I saw the 3.55/3.73 ratios listed in the powertrain brochure but those ratios are not available with A/C per the notes on the chart. 3.42 is the only ratio for a stick 67 2+2 with A/C

Thumbs up Very Cool Car!

Ain't nothing better than finding an old battleship that's been in hiding for years! The rush that you get when you first come upon a car like this is the best. THANKS for sharing!

Default What a coincidence!

I was searching the www looking for info on 67 Cat 2+2 because I just purchased one needing total restoration. I couldn't decide whether to start the resto on the 66 GTO (not a numbers car) that has been waiting for at least 2 years or to do the 67 2+2(not only numbers matching but pretty highly optioned) that I gave my wife for her birthday last month. That's the only way I could think of to make it OK to buy it since it was trailered in on her birthday(it was a joke) but wouldn't you know---she loves it and is actually claiming it.
How surprising to find out another one is here in Texas in maybe even a little worse shape than mine and just starting restoration. It's last inspection was 85. Mine (whoops, my wife's) is Signet Gold with parchment interior & white vinyl top - has front disc brakes as well as pw,a/c,posi,am-fm radio with rear reverb, tilt wheel and a few other goodies. Luckily the motor was overhauled 30,000 miles ago. Removed main bearing to inspect and and they have not been discolored. Since I've only done GPs until now this will be a fun job. Is there still a 2+2 registry?
Looking forward to keeping up with your project.

i'd be building the 2+2! THe GTO's are common. 2+2's are a head turner in any crowd.

Removed from one about 15 years ago... I'd love to see it go into a correct car, that's if it's not a stick.

We did decide to do the 2 + 2 first. Penny wants to take it to St. Charles next July!

Hi Mike:
Can't believe I'm doing a Catalina instead of a GP this time. But it has bucket seats, ps,disc brakes, tilt wheel,auto,am/fm radio,pw,posi and a BIG 428. Wow can I smoke 'um.

Road Warriors went great this year. 87 entries and climbing. Everyone really enjoyed that show. Thanks again for your help in W.Virginia. And for the Road Warrior name. How great is that???!!!Perfect. A big thanks for that.

Thanks for the updates, Larry. I am DELIGHTED that this car fell into the right hands and will be saved and appreciated. I've been into Pontiacs all my life pretty much, and have owned them since the 70's (my first car was a GTO) and I have been in the automotive industry for decades, and I've seen a LOT of cars, and a LOT of Pontiacs, but I've NEVER seen a stickshift '67 2+2. Ever. That is a RARE bird!!!!

Thanks to you for coming up with the suggestion of the class! To me it's what the hobby's all about.I'm glad to hear the show went well. I had family obligations that prevented me from attending.

Btw, welcome to P/Y.

Mike

I was reading another thread that is has been confirmed by Fred Simmons research on that document shown , only 144 made of three speed 67 2+2's! That being both body syles combined so I have advised Art to keep it all original and that tranny will be pulled and rebuilt instead of a 4 speed swap. He is waiting for me to come by and get it fired up for him. He has bought a new gas tank, upgrade aluminum radiator, original steelie wheels sandblasted painted and new tires installed and got his PHS back. here pics from previous owner as it was a "barnyard" find...lol
