Just went and looked at a 67' Catalina.
Not much left to the body but the doors looked ok.

I wonder about hitting the crank bolt with an impact....of course, carefully...if that doesn't budge it, it's a sign that engine needs to come out.

Patience is the key...keep soaking it, and periodically nudge the crank bolt with a wrench, but for heaven's sake don't use an impact.

I took a few mins from an engine I'm blueprinting & building to see if valves move.
They move so adding more brew to cylinders Is this color correct for 67' 400 Carter carb? Metallic Pontiac Blue is my color of choice Trashcan Jeff: I'm gonna send you all my braided stuff cause I know you love it so much! I even have brand new (from the 80's/90's) Moroso wires braided with ground strap!..HooHoo!

LOL, I made a poorly placed comment to a friend about yellow plastic braided hose covers. I thought the previous owner had done such....no it was my friend...NO he did not put any on next engine he installed in another vehicle (I freshened up a 350 for it...)
SOMEBODY might want that stuff, restoring a TA to 80's spec's maybe with a disco ball in the back seat Inside of valve covers look very good, wondering why it won't budge...

Oh yes disco ball!...good times!
Yes I'm wondering the same thing now that I have a total of 3 qts of brew in the motor. Tans fluid Acetone Mavel oil PB Blaster We'll see, today I tip top filled it! I hooked up a battery and got the parking lights & headlights to work as well as the dash... yeah I did click the starter and it is there.

I'm don't have ordinary hot rod automotive experience's like some folks have been blessed with. I've obtained several engines that I KNEW might be toast, paid a little money for some, some free (one 455 and one 400).
I got these because they were cheap. spent time on them (my time is cheap...) scrapped a bunch, still have a couple that are getting more attention as my life's financial situations have improved some... I've taken apart many engines that weren't crusty, those sure are nice. I wonder how many here have never disassembled a crusty engine?, obviously way worse that your 67 GP's??? You never know how these deals can play out. The cyl's with pistons at TDC will only get the "brew" around a very small part of the piston, even if it's all the way at TDC. Pistons at BDC will get "brew" all across the piston. With the engine out, the engine can be rotated to allow cyl's on one bank to completely soak around the rings. I've used a cheapo 1/2" impact to crush the crush sleeve in differentials. I go a little bit at a time checking to make sure the sleeve is not crushed all the way. Way easier than struggling with a break over. Now one of my "whoop Ass" Snap On impacts will not do this job, can't control it easily had to get another crush sleeve the one time I learned this lesson... I think of all the bolts I've broken, because I did NOT use an impact. The friction connection can be broken easily with the proper amount of impact. Pull on some bolts and the just twist..a touchy deal. A deft touch with an impact isn't going to make anything worse...might break loose at less than 160 ft/lbs......

I have the same background as you.
I can tell you about the time way back in the last century a Pontiac short block was given to me from under a porch that was locked up and rusted solid...freed up because I discovered and invented sandpaper!...lol Into a 74' Grand Prix winter bomb! I also did this brew to my 57' Studebaker Golden Hawk but it did not work. I will put a long handle breaker bar to it but if it does not respond out it comes to be broken down when I have time to do my own stuff. If it will not move most likely the rings are fused to the cylinder walls and will need to be replaced... I have plenty of Pontiac parts
