UPS "LOST" a 40 POUND package!
My axles, plates and bearings were allegedly "lost" by UPS.
The axle housing arrives Friday (tomorrow).
The GREAT news is that Quick Performance is cutting a new set of axles today and sending them along with everything else that UPS "lost" out today, so by Monday the shop will have everything!

UPS "lost" not one, but TWO packages from Quick Performance!
The shop got started on the GTO today, we thought the first 3 boxes delivered Monday was all of the Wilwood front disc brake system parts, and....NO FRONT DISCS!
Did a track, and it showed one of the 3 boxes was "lost"...No call, no email, no notification from UPS.
Once AGAIN Max at Quick Performance STEPPED UP for us-their customer-and shipped ALL of the parts UPS "lost" and Max also called the shop doing the work to see when they needed the missing parts by, and took care of any cost involved in expedited shipping.
Thank God that Quick Performance cares about their customers, because I have found through the years that BOTH FedEx and UPS DON'T CARE, it's ONLY about the bottom line for them!
Quick Performance = A+ for taking the extra time and costs to make this happen in time for my wife to have her car ready for Crusin the Coast.
UPS = utter FAIL and they don't care on top of failing!

Went to the shop today...
WOW!
Before I post the awesome pix, I am having a local outstanding driveshaft shop mod the existing driveshaft so it is the correct length, balanced, and has the 1350 pinion yoke/U-joint compatibility for the bulletproof QP rear axle chunk.
The shop owner recommended getting a slip yoke for the Muncie 4 speed that is also compatible with a 1350 U-Joint on the transmission end and an aluminum driveshaft. I certainly don't want a much smaller U-Joint on the transmission end like we will have for now, but I really would appreciate advice and sources for the slip yoke that can have a 1350 U-Joint and what about Chrome Molybdenum instead of aluminum?
Please help!
Enjoy the pix!

Yes, Iris Mist
Truly spectacular color, especially at dawn and dusk.
My goal is a good cruising experience, but bulletproof GREAT quarter mile launch and traction performance, the exact opposite of what the open diff R.I.P. 8.2 was...

avman, looks nice and thanks for the pictures. I just put the same axle in my '64. Do you know what your shop did regarding the parking brake cables? I see you have the stock cables hanging there. QP told me you can use the stock ones, but the rear sheeting is about 4" short between the frame bracket and the rear disc bracket. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks, Steve

You might want to consider an aftermarket (Strange, Denny's etc) driveshaft, instead of reusing the stock one with upgraded yokes an U-joints. A strong axle with a weak driveshaft might be an issue, not sure of the purpose of the vehicle. If it's just street you should be ok, but if you are going to race it with tire it could be a problem.

bbnotop - I just went thru this on my '67 GTO. Put a Currie 9" in with KORE3 C6 Z51 rear brakes - uses a pull type lever vs what we have on stock drum brakes. Vic at Control Cables built me the two correct cables for brackets and levers - connected up to rest of stock system for about $30 each. Website is http://www.controlcables.com/parking-brake-cables-2/ -

Fast turn around and a great guy to work with too! Take some pictures and measure at axle full droop. He will most likely know the ends to put on. My park brake cables look factory. I am quite happy with them.

Good luck!

avman, nice build so far. I'm doing the same thing in my 67 race car.
I got a QP 9" 3.90 pro gear, spool, 1/4" axel tubes 35 spline Axel's and the Ford disc brakes. Max was my salesman, great guy!!!!!
So far I installed the empty housing and mocked up the anti roll bar.
I have to weld the brkts to the housing and the link brkts to the frame. Then I can assemble the rest. I went with Qa1 double adjustable shocks
