I’d say every couple months, I find a pure silver American coin and some pretty neat foreign coins sometimes.

However a few months ago and I knew what it was a soon as I saw it I found a 1945 2 1/2 Mexican peso and they are pure gold.

At the moment I think they sell for about $175-$190.

On the day when I found it it was a pretty good hall of some various foreign coins.

Happy Hunting.
I haven't found gold in a coinstar but I have found several silvers. About two weeks ago I went by the coinstar at my local Walmart and as I always do walked over to check out the reject tray. Before i got to the machine I saw about 10 dimes laying on the floor. Then I looked in the reject tray and it was full! I started scooping coins out and stuffing them in my pocket. But, when I got down on my knees to pick up the ones on the floor my wife walked off like she didn't know me!
All total there was $13.60 in dimes and 4 pennies. Two of the dimes were 62 and 64 silvers. I also got two 1 Pfennig coins, 1 10 Pfennig and the gold looking piece is a 5 Pfennig. Most of the dimes dated late 60s to the early 90s .Only 3 were newer than 2000

I look in the reject tray towards the bottom of the machine.
The way I see it, the owner abandoned them, Coinstar rejected them and they don't belong to Walmart any more than a coin or bill laying on the ground.
I had one clerk ask me what I was doing so I told her. I said I get the coins and put them in a big jar at home. Every November I sort, roll and take them to the bank where I deposit them in my checking account. Then I take how ever much more I need out of my account to bring the total up to $250.00. I then buy toys and clothes for under privileged children and donate them to what ever charity our car club is sponsoring that year.

I am in the process of assembling a small group of coins in order to give to my five grandchildren, mostly non-silver coins, as the price of silver and gold has passed me by. Anyway, I would offer you $4. for this coin. I believe it would fit in nicely with the other common items that I am hoping to leave to my heirs.
Best Regards............

Collected coins til 1976, now waiting to go back through the collection when I retire. Maybe I’ll find a few surprises.
