Notice how close the ring gear bolts are to the case. Fabcraft's arp bolts they supplied had too tall heads on them to clear the case so I reused the factory ones. More to come

Sorry guys I can only post 1 pic at a time from my iPhone. This pic is of the backlash adjuster. One is way in and the other is way out I am assuming by design at JD Race. I got the 3.42 and up from jim and the fat gears so maybe something is amiss. It works well though and seems to turn fine.

I used a stock 62 posi I got 2nd hand from Fabcraft and I had to grind the case to clear the ARP bolts sent with the 3.42 I also got from Fabcraft. In fact ... got all my parts from them.

Your pattern looks a hell of a lot better than mine did. Coast side too close to the toe on mine. I fought .... and I mean fought for at least several days .... trying to get the pattern "right". I set up a 12 bolt about 25 years ago in about 4 or 5 hours. Took pics and sent them to Fabcraft that made a few suggestions. I could make the pattern worse but not much better. Fabcraft stopped answering my e-mails so I just said to hell with it and installed it as is. So far it's still together and not making any noise.

Good luck with yours. This is the last time I will ever set up a rearend.

Another aftermarket product that was not tested properly. Stuff like this should NOT happen. I mean nobody could ever have tried this with those bolts and sell this kit in good conscience. It is great that they make the stuff for these cars, but this is crazy.

I don't blame fabcraft for the bolt issue and I'm sure I'm not the second person thus happened to. I sent the photo to both JD and fabcraft for their records. FC supplied excellent bolts instead of off the shelf stuff and it was no big deal to me. I didn't have to mod anything so all is good. I have 12 arp bolts if I need them lol.
