If you put a Crower SS next to any other rocker they are the best made-even next to Crower's aluminums. Big bearing and trunnion.

Seems everybody is comparing aluminum to stainless steel. I paid a little over $500 about 5 years ago for Crower SS. Crower Stainless are the best hands down in my opinion. If I had no choice but to have aluminum it would be HS.

I have also used Crower Al roller rockers and the quality is excellent. If $ doesn't matter I would buy Crower SS.

Crower SS rockers are a copy of the original Norris SS rocker. I have a set, they look the same. Norris is still in business I believe but do not make the Pontiac rocker anymore. Still make Mopar stuff.
A few years ago Ace at PPR said Norris was not far away from him and would do a run of Pontiac rockers, 10 sets at a time. I wonder if they would still do it.
Mine are the best, jewelry. Lash never changes.
Paid 260$ for them.

I've currently got a set of HS 1.5's on my engine. I've not had a single bit of trouble with them.

That said, is there weight savings in going to the Crower SS? If I end up changing the morels in my engine, I'm doing the whole thing, including going to a 1.65 to get closer to .600" lift.

Seriously, if you are looking at stainless steel full rollers the Crowers are the rockers to get.

For aluminum the only ones I haven't had issues with are Harland Sharp and Crane Gold Race.

ALL of the others we've tried here or been associated with have had issues.......FWIW......
It's a real shame that so many Scorpion rocker arms fail just like that and can cause allot of engine damage. They are made in the USA which is a good thing, but I have seen too many failures to use them. I recommend steel for all my builds. If a customer insists on aluminum stud mount, Harlan Sharp would be my choice. Also American Made.

I looked into them when I was having issues with my comp magnums that ultimately got switched out.

I understand the internet can be biased towards issues since satisfied buyers don't get on to specifically praise, but it's hard to ignore the fact that at every turn of forum page you see pictures of Scorpion rockers cracked at the trunion.

I believe if you do your homework regarding rocker arm material, stainless steel vs aluminum, you will find less concern with the weight involved than the rocker arm design itself. Very little horsepower difference between the two materials weight in a rocker arm.

As well as most of the weight of the stainless rockers are concentrated at the fulcrum point anyway, which has no barring.

"Crower SS rockers are a copy of the original Norris SS rocker. I have a set, they look the same. Norris is still in business I believe but do not make the Pontiac rocker anymore. "

They sure look beefier than the Norris 1.6s on my RAIV. But those are nice too.

About 12 years ago I got my 1.6 stainless Crowers off of ebay new for $250 from a divorce sale. They have been on 3 engines since and last time I had them off, showed no signs of wear. I would just buck up, get the Crowers and don't look back.

I had PRWs and they starting failing. I decided to bite the bullet and get crowers. This was about 5 years ago. I remember pricing out crowers at summit and I was kinda shocked how pricey they were - Im thinking around $600-650?? (i cant recall exactly). I found some online sellers that were cheaper and contacted summit - summit was able to bring down their price a little. So, maybe try that if you deal with summit.
.
On fairly large dollar purchase, I prefer to deal with a well known merchant. I know with summit , when I have issues / problems - they have always treated me pretty good. Plus their shipping time to me is always super fast

A member here posted a link about a year ago, Crower was getting rid of their aluminum rockers. They had "1.7" Pontiac rockers for just under $300, shipped. I bought one set, maybe should have bought several.

Haven't used them yet, but should soon. I did test fit them on another motor I built last year. They measured closer to 1.68:1.

That part number is for a single rocker arm. So a set from Jegs would be $741.60. Butler and others can beat that easily. Picture is misleading showing a pair.
