Default Lost voltage to compressor

Hi, I no longer get 12v to my a/c compressor on my 70. System is all original and has been working fine until now. Fuse in fuse box under dash is fine, all fan speeds work, and if I jump 12v to the compressor it works fine. So for some reason the compressor no longer getting voltage from the harness.
No sign of mice either. I just dont know if there is a relay or something else between the dash controls and the compressor.

There should be a fuse at the alternator for the compressor.

Check the ambient temp sensor located on the top of the cowl.

Ok, should have some time this w/e to investigate. About the fuse, I am aware of the hi speed fan fuse in that location but not for the compressor. I will look for the ambient temp sensor but I am not aware of any such sensor on a 70. What am I looking for exactly and how to check it?

The a/c thermal limiter fuse is probably blown. It is in the power feed circuit to the compressor and usually not too far from the compressor connector.

Guys, thank you for all the replys. Unfortunately I haven't been able to get back to this yet, (arrgg, short daylight hrs and too much work). I did follow the compressor's 12v lead from the compressor back to the harness at the firewall, no fuses present just a harness to harness connection. A picture would be worth a thousand words to identify any of the components suggested in this thread. Merry Christmas!

I found the sensor on the cowl. Sensor has no voltage either except when I hot wire the compressor. So, sensor is probably not the problem. Hate to work blind but took a leap of faith thinking its most likely the dash switch. Sprayed a couple of quick shots of qd electronics cleaner in the slot where the switch arm comes through the face of the control panel, flipped it a few times and bingo! 12v to the compressor!
