It's been a long time since I looked for belts but the last time I checked they only repoped the early belts.

Edit: I just double checked Quanta's site and they are still only offering Pontiac belts up to '71.

Huh?
What's the difference between repro'd and ones you can buy at a parts store?

I believe date codes, the style of the belt and the manufacturer's marking that was used from the factory.
Are they originally Dayton belts?

Larry, the early style belts had the part number embossed into the belts. Later they would print all the information on them.

F&S, Luckily I found all my NOS belts years ago. You can still find them on Ebay but they are far and few between.

So if you go to a show, do you loosen the belts and reposition them so the dates are legible?

The guys that do that are likely the same ones that index the bolt heads on the fendertops & rad support so the anchors are all pointing in the same direction.

Seriously, just about ANY replacement belts that you buy these days have those ugly looking notches cut into the tops or bottoms & just don't look RIGHT on a nicely restored period correct engine.

NOS GM belts & a set of original Guide headlights are the finishing touches to a "cosmetically correct" restoration.

15501
GM Numbers: 78 400
A/C belt - 9433770
P/S - 9433753
Gen w/ 80amp - 9433754

79 400
A/C - 9433766

GM has discontinued these I have checked on them.
If you locate some let me know, I went with the goodyear belts because according to the manual it says goodyear made the belts for GM.
