70 GTO Water Pump Pulley
I have several water pump pulleys and don't remember which is the right one for my car. Not a numbers matching engine but is a 70 date code 400 engine and is ready to install but this project has taken about 4 years. Here are the #'s on the pulleys I have ;
481039-XF 8" diameter (This is the one I think was on it). 9799127-XF 8" diameter(Think this is for my 71 455) 481040XT 6 1/2" diameter. and lastly a 7" diameter pulley with zero numbers on it. Thanks in advance. Any help would be appreciated

I didn't grab the GTO Restoration Guide, but I recall that a car with AC has a crank pulley that is larger than the WP pulley (8"?). The WP pulley might be 6 1/2" for the AC car. For a non AC car the diameters were reversed. Seems that Pontiac wanted coolant flow to be higher for AC cars. I have a non AC 1970 with a 400 and am running the AC style pulleys with the larger pulley on the crank and the smaller pulley on the WP.
