Default V8 Conversion Parts for '63

Who can tell me what parts are needed to swap a Pontiac V8 in place of the Trophy 4 in a '63? Specifically, what's needed for the engine mounts? I plan to do a transmission and differential swap as well, so I realize I'm on my own with the tunnel mods and transmission cross-member. Did the '63 326 have the standard 2 motor mount bosses used through '69? Do I just need the two V8 frame mounts? Thanks for any information!

Honestly, I'd really like to upgrade the entire front suspension. I'm still trying to figure out if that's best accomplished by stripping off everything and welding onto the existing frame rails, or if there's a front sub-frame swap that might work.

I just had mounts fabbed to my 4 cyc mounts. That was done 22 years ago.If you can get a 326 X member the V8 mounts work fine. You will have to cut the fire wall up to about the location of where the dist cap will be and the tunnel to just the front of the back seat.I have done 3 of these things. If you want pics of the fabbed mounts let me know.We also moved the engine toward the pass side to allow room from the steering shaft for headers.Stick shift car.Tom

Thanks, Tom. Absolutely, I'll take pictures - never hurts to have as much information as possible!

Is that picture current where you could take a measurement for me? Can you tell me the distance between the frame rails at the mid-point between the front two cross-member bolts? It needs to be fairly precise if possible. I'm looking at front-end kits to see what my options are there. Thank you!

My '63 LeMans project is easy to get to today.
Between the frame rails 27 3/4". That measurement holds true til the back several inches of each side of the K frame.

Looked at your pic again, DUUUHHH. the dimension I measured was between the frame rails towards the top. Will ck back in?

Measuring across from the center of each 1/2" diam hole 29 3/8".

Not sure I understand = but what I need is the inside dimension measured in the vicinity of the spindle center line, which to me looks to be between the front two cross member bolts.

I think I understand the confusion. I didn't mean on top of the rail centered on the bolt holes, I mean the inside dimension, at the point (front to back) about halfway between the bolts. Looks like your first response was what I needed?
