Default Dyno day coming Thursday

I finally got my dyno day set up. If nothing happens it will be Thursday the 24th. 2 things have to happen to make it successful, 1st.--Hopefully it comes home in 1 piece. 2nd.-- I'm hoping for 800+ HP. I wont be taking my 1250 Dominator like I planned because there was trouble getting it to act right when i had it running on the stand. So I will be using my 1050 I used on my previous 474. We will see how it shakes out.
Build Specs.
535. IA II block
4.5" Forged Scat crank
6.7 " Scat Rods
Diamond pistons with 17CC dish/reliefs
CamMotion SR cam. 276/284 @.050,
.450/.455 lobe lift. 113 LSA
CV1 Heads max flow 403 @.750 lift
CV1 Low rise intake. Proted to match heads
1050 Dominator.
I have to take my own headers, i have the 2" headers that I will use on the car, i also have a set of stepped 2-1/"8"to 2-1/4" headers that were built for a chassis car. I will use whatever set fits best on the dyno
I will try a 1" tapered spacer as well as a 1" open spacer. Probably try them together too depending on time.
The plan is to work on jetting, timing ( starting at 28*) and carb spacers to see what it likes.

what rocker and compression? i think you will make a fair amount more than 800 even with the little headers. you have a fancy intake or the cast low rise?

.
Rockers are Harland Sharp 1.8 shaft system.
Compression is 11.75 to 1.
The intake is the low rise "X" manifold. Not the "R" tall 2 piece manifold but better than the standard low, rise from what i hear.
I will be really happy with over 800. My current 474 was aprox 700 at the flexplate according to Wallace Calcs

I appreciate all input, but I think for a cam change to make 100 HP diference the initial cam would have had to be way off for the combo. I have done a test of 3 differebt cams on a previous build and the difference fromon best to worst was only about 2 tenths of a sec.
Increasing the duration @ .050 by another 20 degrees on this cam probably would make more power, but we'll see what can be done as is.

Not a terrible day, but not exactly what i was hoping for. It made good power, happy with those results but I broke a rocker shaft stand and damaged 2 rockers. 794 HP @6700 & 697 TQ. @ 5000. I'll post the sheet when I get home.
I didnt get to play with carb spacers or jetting. Only tuning changes were timing. We made 4 hard pulls after the initial 2 low rpm pulls to warm it up.

Well dam, sorry to hear you had a bit of trouble. Such a worry when you dump so much money into these engines.
Our 505 made 789 hp and 700 torque corrected to sea level on the dyno. I thought you would have made higher.

I think It may have made a little more with some carb tuning. But i can't be sure because we didnt get to. The 1050 Dominator is jetted for my 474. Also wanted to test a couple diferent spacers. Looks like I'll end up doing that on the track after I get new rockers. In not concerned about the breakage, it sucks but at least it wasnt the bottom end...lol..
We made 4 pulls 2 of the pulls had 701 TQ and 793-794 HP. But this is the only print out. Best power at 30* timing. 34* dropped the pier to 685 HP.

Good job! Always a bummer to break stuff but atleast it was nothing catastrophic.

Scott,
Sorry to hear about your problems.

Is it possible to have the dyno operator email you the Super Flow Data files? I have printed those out for some people and also exported the data so they could import the data into Excel.

Stan

Typo... The 4* dropped it to 785 not 685. Thank for catching that.

I assume he could. What other info would be in the files or is it just for data retention ?
