I'm interested to see where this one will go to;
It looks to be mostly there, and although the trunk and lower rad support look nasty, the rest looks solid enough.

It's pretty weird that most of the documents for this car lack the final vin character.

there's no mention of what carb it has, but it clearly reads that this transmission is a replacement;
So this has the original motor - and that's great.

I have not noticed another listing that so clearly spelled out all the vehicles short commings/issues, and I give the seller major props for being so forthright.

The missing cowl tag can have a get around, and if near enough cars are documented, odds are you can get it perfect.

Personally, I don't think it's worth if I got it for free. Sure, you could do a restoration on it with a lot of time and money, but the best you'd ever have is a driver quality restoration (like my car) which you should be able to find already done for less money and way less hassle. And even if the journey itself is what you're after and you can do lots of it yourself, there are better starting points than that. It'll be interesting to see what happens.

Considering it’s on BAT I’ll guess it gets up to the high 30”s. If it sells in the low 30’s that would be a great buy IMO.

I think someone did a lot of bondo work to cover up issues when that car was previously "restored". If you look closely at the pics in the gallery, there's some weird stuff going on. Definitely not a $48K car. But that doesn't mean someone won't bid that...!

Look at pic #3, that's how many pics it took to see this car had been "restored", can anyone tell me what I see in that pic,the front nose picture, that told me it was repainted at some point incorrectly??

Yep, so many miss this detail and it has always bothered me. "nostrils" just look better on lower front bumper when that strip is left black as the factory originally did..

The Ford trucks I dabble in have a similar thing with the grille. There was black paint around the headlight bezels (somewhat worn off in this picture) and the upper and lower vertical bars giving the middle area sort of a floating effect. The reproductions and often the refinished grilles I see don't apply that paint and you lose the effect.



That's one of my 1966 F250 4x4 trucks. The 4x4s were still fairly rare - only 3,559 F250 stylesides built in this year. Air horns poking through the grille on the passenger side, just to keep other drivers honest! Hahaha.

Mr. Redi-Rad (Engine-Ear on this forum) showed up on the Ford truck forum the other day with a 2WD stepside so I'm not the only one who sways both ways.
