Default Rear Control Arm Bushing Install

on my 66 GTO, I just got the control arms back from powder coating, and they didn't mask the bores. I'm planning to leave as is and try installing the new bushings with my bushing press, spacer to keep the arms from collapsing, and freeze the bushings (Moog rubber) overnight to aid in install.

Would some lube like white lithium grease or light oil be helpful as well? if I struggle getting them in, I will carefully sand the coating in the bore, but as a last resort.

That’s exactly why I just paint parts. Powder coat is a PITA.

remove the powder coat, should come off with some medium sandpaper, that stuff can be pretty thick & theres no need to fight with it.

the bushings should not be that difficult to press in, i just did this last week on some front control arms & only used one of the C clamp type ball joint presses, went in with very little effort. lightly grease the inner bore of the arms & the raised are of the bushing to ease install & prevent rust if/when they get removed again. should not need to freeze the bushings.

Thanks for the advice. Cleaned out the bores and got all 8 pressed in. took about an hour total.
