How do I install the stainless hood trim?
I picked up a stainless trim piece that goes on the back of the hood for my 72 GTO and want to install it.
Do you snap the piece on the rear of the hood or do you open one end and slide it on untill you get to the other side and then close the end back up?

Line it up and snap it on directly, no slide.

Yep ... and put a bit of time into figuring out where to put it. Seems to be some variance in length ... you don't want it hanging off one end more than the other.
I used a large rubber mallet to tap it on slowly. If the hood has modern paint with numerous coats of clear it's going to be a snug fit.

I used a rag and wiped a little WD40 on the edge to help it slide a bit better.

Mine snapped on with no issues. If you need to be able to adjust, spray a little hairspray to the edge your putting the trim piece on, it allows a short period of time to adjust trim.
