Default New plate for the red TA

I am finally about done with the 72 TA clone. I’ve never had a car take this long but it looks like it’s gonna be worth it.

Thought I would see if anyone got the plate reference I chose for it……

I get it.

I’ve found them to be quite delicious myself.

and some lyrics

She's American made, you know what I mean?
Red on black, she's a street machine.

Set's ten inches off the ground with a custom plate
That says I-E-A-T Z28

Trans Am
Trans Am
Trans Am Highway Wonderland.
And she shines on the street.
And she shines at the heat.
And she shines in my baby's eyes.
And she shines on every other guy's
Trans Am
Trans Am
Trans Am
Highway Wonderland.
-Solo-
T-R-A-N-S A-M
Trans Am!
-2nd solo-
From Daytona Beach down to Riverside
If there's a race, she's qualified.
My six point six gets a little too heavy

For a "Big Balls" Ford or a 350 Chevy
Trans Am
Come on, catch me if you can in my
Trans Am, Highway Wonderland
Trans Am
Trans Am
Me and my Trans Am
Come on, catch me if you can in my
Trans Am, ooh, Highway Wonderland.
Yeah!
Highway Wonderland!!! Yeah!

Thumbs up

I once blew the doors off a high school buddy’s 1969 Z-28, in front of his dad and older brother at the street races in the summer of ‘77 not long after we graduated high school.

He liked to brag that his Z was a 12-second car, we were working at the same place building jet boat drives and one of us called the other out to race on a Friday night.

Dad and brother refused to hand over the ten bucks I won on our bet, saying I must have cheated since one of my friends flagged the start of the race.

I wasn’t driving a Trans Am or anything V8 powered, just my 14-second daily driver VW. Beat him by 2 cars, that must’ve hurt.

Good times.

Perfect! Glad it’s obvious. I always loved the song (and Sammy)so when I saw this was available when I was building a red TA I had to have it.

I am trying to decide if I am putting anything on the shaker. he mentions 6.6 this song and in ‘Baby’s on Fire’ - it came with TA 6.6 decals which I know aren’t correct, but I kinda want to put them on.

That is one of my favorite Sammy Hagar songs. I have the cassette with the red Trans Am on the cover. The album was Street Machine. I saw him in Detroit at the Fox theatre in 1982 and he had a red Trans Am model on the stage. It was fantastic when he did that song. He actually had a red 1979 T/A 6.6 Trans Am back in the day.

Too bad he didn't use it for the iconic Can't Drive 55 video...that was my only exposure to Sammy until he joined VH.

Montrose was when he first started to do well with songs like Rock Candy, Make it Last and Bad Motor Scooter
