Default What exterior colors look good with gold interior?

I am considering buying a 64 LeMans with gold exterior and interior. The interior is nearly mint but exterior will need body work and repaint. I’ve been looking at pics on the web for color combos but not seeing any. I don’t like the gold exterior.

Aside from gold exterior, these are colors I think would go well: dark blue, dark green, burgundy. What colors am I overlooking? Pics would be great too.

My first thought is brown. Doesn't clash with gold and would tone down the overall harshness of gold on gold.

Not exactly the same but I used to know a guy with a brown '79 T/A that had a tan interior (yea...not gold but sorta close) and it went really well together.

FWIW,
Eric

When ordering my 64 GTO, I wanted the Nocturne blue exterior. I wanted a gold interior, the salesman said it wasn't a good idea. he had a GM issued color compatability chart. This combo was not recommended. My mother, aunt, and girlfrend didn't recommend it either. I recommend you consult a woman!

BTW I ordered the medium blue interior(sometimes called the "dark blue" interior. looks great.

I’m still here! Haha -

I like the advice of consulting a woman-but my wife hates the gold and isn’t open-minded to colors that would work. Maybe something about the shade of gold on this particular car is what makes it odd.

I think you should pass on it & hook me up with the owner. I’d drive it all day in those colors!

Just trying to help. 😁
