Default Steering Column Sleeve

A member suggested I try posting this here vs. Street. I am asking what other members may have used as a substitute for the plastic sleeve that covers the open mesh part of the outer tube on the column under the dash on a 67. The factory part is a thin plastic piece slightly tapered on each end. A while back I purchased a rebuilt tilt column from a guy in Ohio but it did not come with a sleeve(?). I have one on my old column but I don't think it would survive and attempt to "transplant" it now that the tilt column is installed. Help would be appreciated, thanks.
