At face value, it looks like AA is double stripe code.

2) the typeset was Way out of Whack - or entry operator made a boo-boo
Box 45 is missing a little bit of area.
Being a hubcap car - it "could" have had A6 in that box. (Black - 6")
We don't know for sure if the A was there, but missing now from damage, or if the second A in box 44 actually was meant for box 45.

Another little mystery deal kind of.
I like the cool factor of a double stripe code though . fwiw
1) That makes sense, a friendly reminder for Fremont line workers that two stripes are needed this year, at least in the beginning of production.

2) Looking at the size of those boxes, I don't see enough room to the left of the 6 in box 45 for an A or any other character. Notice the 6 is directly underneath the box number which is already close to the edge. You can also see part of the box line just to the left of the 6.

Yep, cool stuff!

My thoughts for now is the above ^^^^^ by BVZ.

The “1” is tied to stripes.

On the 1967 PHS sheets, box 49 shows a “1” option for (Delete Stripes).
If a ‘67 CBH card shows 49-1, that car should Not have factory stripes.

If box 49 is not used on the CBH, then that car Should ‘have’ stripes that would be noted on the paint line on a POP.

Now find a ‘67 Unrestored Survivor without factory stripes and it’s POP paint code for a possible solution to that “1” thingy.

Good Luck.
