OK, BVZ, still reading impaired.

Quote:
Box 73 and Box 74 are a combo together (like tire codes, engine codes, etc)

73-3 is the Special Order Axle
goes with 3.90 or 4.33 {3P or 3S}

73-1 is the general Safe-T-track {1K etc}

73 - _ is non-Posi {_G etc}

My take on it:

The box 73 is as you said above except for one addition.
#2 is for speedo adapter
Which if it had the general STT it would add up to '3' (2 + 1) otherwise is '1'

The speedo adapter 591 is required with 3.90/4.33 geared automatics and the 3 speed manual shift trannies

Posting this other 66 GTO Buildsheet for Dan so he has even more stacked data on the M21 / FT / 778 definitions.
This one was 4.33 Axle (733-74S)
and
RamAir XS
Most of you probably already have a copy of these in your files.

Only have two 66 GTO Buildsheets in my files
And luckily both were pretty high-tootin cars.
65-66-67 GTO Buildsheets are so few and far between

Nope
See the window sticker by Mike Noun i just posted if you need more clarity

And you are still dismissing the fact that Dan's car with 3 on the P-o-P
Does NOT have a Speedo Adapter on the BHC
So where's the proof in your pudding > ?
Its not in your ingredients

John
591
is the Speedo Adapter // $11.06

Not
732

When you don't see 591 on the 1966 BHC
the car did not have it
Period

Its confusing me how you are still missing this Box 73 and Box 74 data

The whole point of the matter entirely is
what is the definition of the 3 on the P-o-P of Dan's WS M21 4.33 car
Address that first
And use the process of eliminations using the ample examples supplied

Default Fremont build

I’ve been tracking these Fremont built cars (64-67) and their pollution requirements for years.

Anstein BF YR and my BF YR.

Protecto-O-Plate number “4” and ‘66 CBH.

4, as in box 45-4 = Rally Wheels.

4, as in box 61-4 = Positive C/C Vent.

Another Fremont built ‘66 with Rally Wheels.

45-4 = Rally I
61-6 = A.I.R.

This car was once owned by Grant.
I don’t have the CBH, but here is the POP.

Radio delete car also.

Chris.

Another Great matching of the codes on those P-o-P's

Someone on here had said they saw your YR Car in person -
and opening the door on the Red Interior was like opening the lid on a red velvet lined jewelry box full of shiny sparkly silver trinkets .

i figure --- its GOTTA be Really Nice !
The low crouching tiger stance like yours is my preference
Beautiful Car
The YR club had some heavy representation on here today

John , i didn't realize before that it was the 732 component of the 733 total (1 + 2 = 3) that was clouding your vision. I took it for granted you already knew about the unlisted 732 code - and how it differed from 738 on the option sheet.

It's deeper than i care to try to remember on all that -
I went through it too when breaking down the codes on my 65 - many years ago.
Not going to trust myself on the 738 lingo - but its different and goes for cars like Lemans' and Tempest - not GTO.

John V. , Mike Noun and some others got me the info and details on 1+2=3 for the early cars Axles.
And the details on my listed 779 Transmission for the early 3.90 cars.
Not 778 or 77W
Which it was also unlisted on the PHS option/order sheets.

I'm not bullshanking or fluffing it about the 1+2=3 formula of 733

I assumed the 3 in box 73 was due to having "SAF-T-TRACK (731)" and "PERFORMANCE AXLE RATIO (732)" Like this Ram Air car, see last 2 lines of the window sticker.

Box on left:

S - Speedo-Adapter - Code 591 REQUIRED

Perhaps they included the price for it in the axle gear/STT price?

Yes Exactly
I also assumed we were all on the same page with it - but if you have never encountered the 732 portion before in a breakdown - i can see where John was struggling so hard with it all.
He doesn't do a lot of early stuff - iirc

It is not listed anywhere on anything PHS sends out.
Have seen several repo PHS and other entity Window Stickers done incorrectly and leave the 732 out completely on 733 cars window stickers.
Then they fudge the math or just plug in the MSRP even though their math doesn't balance to that number.
Jokar's PHS window sticker isn't done correctly as one example.

Mike Noun knows how to get it all done right better than anybody when it comes to window stickers.

For 1965 it is boxes 70 and 71
but the same recipe
This is my 65 Blk/Blk WS M20 (779) 3.90 car (3P)
I struggled with the breakdown on it originally with 703 and 779 codes , and got help from my seniors here

You didn't realize Dan's car was a 4 speed all this time ?
Look at the Chart = 4 speed

John, you're falling off the edge and going sideways here man.
Apply your speedo adapter theory to Dan's 4spd car and show us something that says 732 is speedo adapter.

It was known many many many posts ago that Jokar's car has a Speedo Adapter (automatic)
591 on his BHC
$11.06 on his window sticker
That has never been a dilemma

You're not proving anything or disproving anything that was questioned.
Just going in circles

Draw some Red Arrows pointing into the 4 Speed section of that graph, and maybe someone else will buy into your theory with you ?

It's not REQUIRED on the 4 speeds.

Dan's is an Automatic which is REQUIRED.

Another sheet (clearer):
(look at Axle section)

John
i think you need to lay down and get some rest .

Dan is DANTIP , the guy who started this thread about his car, and his P-o-P.
He owns a WV TriPower / M21 4speed / 3S 4.33 Posi -1966 GTO

You need to get some rest man.
Or you're playing practical jokes , i dunno anymore
But its getting worse every time you post

e d i t
WV is the Cali Code for TriPower Manual , in case that helps clear it up some too.
One time earlier i posted it as a WS out of habit but that wouldn't change the criteria very much about it being a 3x2 4spd -
Not Automatic

And another one for the “clean air” files.

I completely forgot about this Fremont built ‘67 GTO.

I found this car in an Oakland, Ca. wrecking yard in 1989 and eventually restored it.

45-4 = Rally Wheels
61-6 = A.I.R.

I’m very appreciative for the amount of input and sharing of these very rare cars and documents!!

Theories can be explored and compared with other known cars/documents and questions can eventually be answered! That’s the beauty of the group/forum!

Thx to All!!

Fathom Blue was DEEP on that HO

Thanks for providing so many relevant P-o-P examples
and the Pretty Pictures

I let a Blk/Blk 67 Hdtp 4spd go by, years ago, because it was very incomplete.
Never came across another one.
Shoulda grabbed it i guess
