Default New bezel gets cut for ac

Thought I would show what I needed to do to fit the ac vent and switch, along with what stain and linseed oil I used. I opted for the ralley gauges, I also painted the gas gauge needle as it was yellow, and re did my speedometor needle. I did readjust the speedometor needle after taking these pics.. The veneer needs to be trimed just a little for it to fit properly in the speedo pod.. All partswere bought from ames. One thing is that the blinker and high beam pods were not chrome, not sure if the originals were, so if they are you may want to check around to see if any other suppliers have them done that way. Also I applied one coat of stain, and 2 coats of linseed which gave in a nice uniform look.

Originals were chrome , who supplied the dash housing ? I would send it back & get the proper one as all of your work looks spot on but the missing chrome from the blinker and high beam pods is not good.

I bought it at ames.. It bothers me abit, Cant believe I didnt notice it till the veneer was on, thats when it stood out to me.. To late to send back. I wouldn't want to do this again.. To nerve racking.

I wrote to let Ames know about the chrome around the pods, this is what they told me.

To me it actually seems like it is chromed in the picture. Is it not as bright as the others? I know that feature is not as prominent as the other chromed elements of the dash. Maybe that is throwing your eye off? It does seem that if yours is not chromed it is a fluke kind of thing as the ones we have checked here are chromed. To me the job you have done in the picture is very nice and I would be happy with that installed in any of our cars here.

Here is a pic of all the pin holes.. The top section feels like 100 grit sandpaper..seek out other suppliers, if you were to send your dash back you be out about 45 plus for shipping cost, not sure if you want to gamble if yours will be fluke free..
