Absolutely Incredible !

Don't know what part of it is the most outstanding - but going to go with the fact that a woman special ordered an HO 4spd - and topped it off with what might be a 1 of 1 color.
Next thing would be how Great it looks.
Spectacular GTO and Heavy Congrats on finding it.

Any chance you could do a close-up picture of the P-o-P
It should have "some type" of color code or special paint designation - hopefully.
The build plant did the upper half of P-o-P , and since Baltimore left the trim tag blank for paint - it might be a blank on the P-o-P as well. (?)

I'm very disappointed (lol) that the PHS still uses Code 1 on your paint code.
That basically is telling us Code 1 on PHS could be almost any color from almost anywhere, on a 1967 GTO, as far as the PHS paint code is concerned. So that is a dead end, but at least we know it.

Truly appreciate you sharing your in-depth documentation with us and the info from your contact with the original owner.

The DuPont # starting with 48 is an oddity - but it might be a typo or something else we don't have knowledge of this far after the fact.
Your GTO is spectacular and has excellent equipments.
Donna must have been one heck of a woman back then
She even special ordered a 3.36 axle ratio versus 3.55 standard ratio
And got the car the day before Christmas Eve !
It's all so Cool

Yeah
She was cool to talk to....
She raced it a little....
Sold it at Carlisle Fairgrounds in 1986....

So fortunate that all the documents followed the car...... including receipts for every service she had done at her Pontiac dealer over the 20 years she owned it

Oh...... and yeah picked it up on Christmas Eve...... but even cooler...... ordered it on my birthday when I was 1 year old.....

Here's some different samples of your PoP.
In reverse , and reversed with inverted colors.

As feared, Baltimore left the Paint Detail Blank, and even the Vinyl Top Detail Blank.
They should have been along the line with 223 Interior Color

It also appears the type setter fat-fingered 4G on the AxleCode that should have been 3H . From boxes 73 & 74 on your PHS

The Z is the alpha-code for the build month = December (thanks to DanTip)

All that Birthday and Christmas stuff is really neat
We all owe a debt of gratitude to the people who ordered our cars new
Pretty great that you got to talk with the original owner of your car.

This is as cool as it gets.....congrats. You are the right guy to be the caretaker of this rare beauty. One place to check for original color is behind the front fenders at the cowl surrounds. A borescope may be needed. Also possibly through the cowl vents. I had a Copper Blaze '66 GTO given to me in the early '80's that was in rough shape but a nice driving car. 4 speed, 3.55 posi, console, gauges, and the map lights with the early style headliner. Sold it for $700 to a co-worker who never paid the remaining $400. He went to jail on a DUI and the car got impounded.....I was the lienholder and went to get the car, but the tow and storage bill was $2700....and this was in 1985! I had to walk away and leave it. Very cool car, though.

That GTO in the Riviera color may be the nicest '67 I've ever seen.

Wow...that really is a beauty. Never would have pictured it being that nice if someone had just said to me- 'Imagine a charcoal '67 GTO with a black vinyl top'... Love the whitewalls on it too.

Stunning! I see you took the cordova top off, I like the two tone look. Great story thanks for taking the time to share.

Truly a gorgeous 67, Troy. Luv the Rally I's with BFG's, white letters out. What size wheels & tires are you running? 15x7, or 15x8? 235 up front and 255 out back, or?

I'm thinking of going with Rally I's on my 67 soon for a change.

Thank you for the kind words....

15x7 on front 235/60's

15x8 on rear 245/60's

I fight with myself all the time on going to 17"s ...... but I cannot seem to do it....

Thanks for the details. I'm still pondering my next move.

I don't think the 17's would improve the look at all. Performance maybe, but not the look. Your's looks perfect to me as is.

That car is gorgeous in that color, never would have guessed.
Really cool car and really cool clean look to it. I wouldn't change anything from that pic.

Default 67 GTO Special Paint

Here is a 67 GTO special paint car coded '0' that I can guarantee you was not painted Tiger Gold. I'm 80% certain this was Marlboro Maroon. Car was a 4 speed, HO 3.55 safe-T-track car at least.
