I got mine from Greg Smith Equipement Lifts back when he was over in Southern Indiana (still might be there??) I drove over and picked it up.
That was probably 20+ years ago, still have the same oil drain, still using it. Holds 15 gallons which is handy for me as I can almost change oil in all the cars before it's full, and uses shop air to pump the oil out into containers to dispose of. Actually I used to just take the whole thing up to the local Jiffy and they would shoot air to it and pump it dry for me but they went out of business. Now I just pump it into 5 gallon containers and take them up one at a time and have a local quick change place dump them in their container. Last edited by Formulajones; 06-13-2023 at 04:23 PM. |

I built my own, and its damn genius. I will endeavor to get a pic this evening. It has replaceable 5 gallon containers that I swap out when its full. Very cheap, DIY, and effective.

ok, here's my homemade oil drain apparatus, using stuff sitting around except from the stuff from Lowes High Performance, plumbing aisle. I was given a number of these green containers, each holds 5 gallons or thereabouts. Once I fill said container, I swap it for another, and take the used oil to a friend who heats his shop with it. Version 2.0, should it ever happen, will have a slightly larger catch pan. height is adjustable based on the spring clamp. And the rolling base could be made from a current harbor frieght light duty furniture mover.
The problem I have with the commercially available ones is that you have to pump out the container in a lot of cases. With mine, its just swap and go.
