rear end question
I have a 308 posi 10 bolt rear end from a 72 GM ambulance, can I put the posi unit in my 1960 323 10 bolt rear and use the 323 ring and pinon gears?
I was thinking that the ring and pinion is what changes the gear ratio, don't want to waste time trying something that won't work. Any help is appreciated. 6-pack |

Oh well, I thought it was worth a try!
Got the rear for hauling it away. Thanks for the reply. 6-pack |

It's still worth something to someone who owns a newer car. What specific GM ambulance did it come out of?

A chevy dual wheel I was told, can get the #'s on if you want?

Sounds like the differential came out of a truck if it had dual wheels, so it probably wouldn't be useable in a car anyway. I don't have any need for it, but figured that if it came out of a newer Pontiac someone else here may be interested.

I dug it out and checked it for #'s, it's not a duel wheel rear, it has 12 cover bolts, has a gm number cast next to the center section of "GM 56", and has white paint on the hubs. I know there is a s/n on it but I could not find one. Maybe someone can use it!
