Mike, the pic you put up of Lucerne blue Judge displayed at '93 (Indy) GTOAA Nats, & later owned by Mike Wilkenson PA, is now lining up to be UNOFFICIALLY the 3rd '71 Judge hardtop built out of the Pontiac plant.

Cardinal Red M22 P1000xx Engineering car built off pilot production June '70 body
Canyon Copper/sienna M22 P100105 shipped to Canada
Lucerne Blue/blue M22 P10011x 1st known lucerne blue Judge (Atlantic City show car)

Other lucerne blue/blue M22 show cars are known to exist but VIN after P100540

Anyone know of any Pontiac plant '71 Judges built between between P10011x & P100540?

"Lucerne Blue 1971 Judge hardtop. This was our Picture of The Week for 5/11/03. This is actually the first Judge that Pontiac built for 1971, it was a show car. Owner has it documented on the build sheet. It's got a blue interior and an 4-speed manual M-22 transmission. It's been featured in recent editions of Pontiac Enthusiast Magazine and and High Performance Pontiac magazine."
Gorgeous Judge! Thanks for posting it here, Mike.

Everyone - please take special note of the front and rear ride heights - THAT'S THE PERFECT STANCE, FOLKS! I hate the 4X4 look . . . most sit WAY too high in the rear!

You're right Lloyd, that is a great stance! Even though its not the first it was a documented show car.

I can imagine that sold a few of the first ones in 71 and the economy killed the Judge program later that year. 71 had wage and price freezes, insurance costs increases...

Its a wonder muscle cars sold at all, but 71 remains one of the nicer designed products. IMHO

And - not only does that stance look right, it also assists with GM's famous (or infamous) rocker panel "flush-and-dry" system to work properly!

Google search "flush and dry" for more info . . .

I know the service manual ride height specs say they were supposed to be a bit "tail down". But to me the nose on this one still looks about a half inch too high. Different strokes, I guess...

Actually, all 71 Judges were equipped with UPC Y96, code 621 Ride and Handling Package, which gave the heavy duty springs and shocks. Ride height with heavy duty springs was a full inch higher than regular suspension and dead even as measured at ends of rocker panels, not low in rear like regular suspension.Yes, the Blue Judges are very pretty... can you guys focus on task, please?

My apologies for off-topic posts, Todd.

And - you're correct about the HD spring ride heights being higher, and even F-R. I still prefer the slight tail-down appearance, though.
