Hood Tach issues
1970 hood tach has needle sticking at around 4000 rpm's. After car runs 20 minutes or so, it relaxes and reads properly. Occasionally is reads 0 at engine warming up. Is there a remedy or is a inside part replacement all that can be done. The shell is painted. Very rarely exterior has gotten wet. Thanks, Ken

The back of the needle moves between two magnets, Dust and paint chips falling off the inside of the housing sometimes get in between the magnets and hangs up the needle. You would need to remove the top and remove the meter movement and face from the base to be able to see into the area of the meter movement were the junk may be. Carefully remove the dust and paint chips.
