Default Tony Angelo YouTube videos

Edited to add latest video: Tony ran at Sick Week. There were some problems along the way but he was able to get down to a best quarter mile time of 11.06 seconds. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MeqYM57s9eY

Tony Angelo was the co-host of Hot Rod Garage on the Motor Trend channel, but is now out on his own. His current project is a 1974 Firebird that he picked up for $1,000. It was done up in a late 1970s/early 1980s Street Freak style, with a wild paint job and interior. Initially he was hosting his YouTube channel independently, but recently hooked up with Haggerty. He installed a Butler 462 engine and four speed; it will eventually be supercharged, but for now he just got it running and driving normally aspirated. The latest Hagerty videos are here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...IxLxti9J_1JNxQ You can go back and see the initial videos on this car, along with his other projects here: https://www.youtube.com/c/staytunedta/videos

I guessed 350 whp with no blower. He made 340 if I recall properly. So 200 cfm 6x heads. So 400 hp. Lost 60 to the wheels. Makes sense. I think he did a simple home port job. I wonder what final comp was. 8.1 for a blower motor? I don’t know. What’s he gonna make with the blower? I’m enjoying the fact he’s excited about pontiacs.

Back in the day I wasn't a big fan of those kinds of paint jobs, but it's kind of cool now that it's survived all these years. When he first got it he was debating whether to use a Pontiac engine or a big block Chevy, so I was glad he made the right choice. I also like that he's been upfront about not knowing very much about Pontiac engines, and he's not trying to come across as an expert or anything...he's learning as he goes.

His older videos on his other projects (as well as his work on Hot Rod Garage and Roadkill) are pretty good too. He seems to be a pretty capable car guy. He did a good job helping out Mike Finnegan at Drag Week back in 2019, he worked his tail off in those episodes of Roadkill.

He seems like he would be a kewl dude to hang out with and b.s. about cars. One of the best Roadkill shows was when he took out Stubby Bob with Finnegan.

That whole group…RK/RKG/HRG/EM, seem like normal - let have fun with cars - guys.

Dulcich kills me every time he opens his mouth, moreso now with his freshly minted choppers.

The Tony Angelo series I gotta remember to keep up with. Watched the one ( or two? ) videos from the beginning, was more entertainment than info, but still enjoyable. IIRC he had a hell of a time with an exh manifold bolt… lol.

330 to the wheels seems a little underwhelming. IIRC the cam is a pretty big hydraulic roller. I'm sure the heads were holding it back quite a bit.

Next installment of Tony Angelo's Firebird - they put a 6-71 blower in it, with good results: 568 hp and 609 lb-ft at the wheels. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVikRDSs2rc

I watched the entire series up to when he was going to dyno the engine before adding the blower.

They found one of the rocker arms lying on top of the head on #7 cylinder, so for 7 cylinders it was doing pretty well, that was holding it back a lot more.

Seems that would have been noticed before the dyno run, but stuff happens when you're in a hurry.

Yeah I saw that,,looks like one end of the pushrod was chewed /worn bad. I would imagine thats why the rocker was all loose. Then they threw in another pushrod and didnt mention it again. Im thinking to myself theres a reason the pushrod got its end worn off,,,coil bind, etc.

That car looks a lot like Chis Haggerty's '73 .

His is one of the very few Youtube channels I follow and subscribe. No BS or fluff, just down to earth car guy projects . Lawrence Tolman (LT from Saturday morning TV car shows) is another one

New video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fr9sOrO2Jcc Apparently his deal with Hagerty didn't work out, he's back on his own channel now. Latest results with the car: 10.80 at 128mph.
