Default Dad's 55 in 1955 and 2015

Had the chance to take pictures of Dad's 55 Pontiac a few months ago. My uncle has had it since 1960 and it is still in relatively sound condition even though it has been stored outside for a loooooong time. I'll post them as I get them edited. My sister and I are standing next to the car in 1959 or 1969 after we moved back from PA where I was born. My sister was born in El Paso when Dad was at Ft. Bliss in the Army.

Here are the last few. Note the license tag frame I am holding and you will see a three two barrel setup in the trunk. My sister and I should have posed for another photo but it was hot and buggy and I never thought about it until today

Tom glad to see it's still in the family. Actually with the rust and patina it's in style nowadays LOL. One of the 55's I had sat for 15 years it just took rebuilding the carb , fresh gas and unsticking the points to get it going.

Pull it out of the weeds and get it into a garage, it deserves better.

Nice to see it's still around, the car that started the Pontiac performance legacy for both Pontiac and the Hand family.

Save it.

Save it soon.

Bart

My cousin Rick who also has dad's 69 340 dart, said he may pull it soon. I hope so too. He says all the chrome and stainless on the 55 is in good shape. Interior is rough I suspect.

Kind of sad to see it like that, a car that had pictures like that taken of it back in the day was a car someone really cared about and loved. I agree with the others, get it out of the weeds and get it running if you can...

I agree Tom, that it looked GREAT back when, and it still looks good. I wonder how good "made-in-China" stainless and chrome would look like 60 years from now?

I look forward to your future posting of pictures of this 'special' '55 out driving again!

Very cool. Now get that member of the family indoors, ASAP! ;-)

Has this been sitting in a low-humidity part of the country?

I see a '57 tripower air cleaner but can't seem to see any other tripower stuff. What other tripower stuff is there?

Man....I'd love to get my hands on that cheiftain. A guy GAVE me this one back in the early 70s. He said it was "blowed up" Put 2 rocker arms on it and drove it home and got many, many miles out of it.
So, is your dad Jim or is Jim an uncle? I met Jim here in the Omaha area some years back at a Pontiac show...
