The new GTO is tested in this month's Car & Driver. Overall, a favorable article. Not surprisingly, their only real complaint is the styling.
14.0 sec 1/4 mile
0.88 g's on the skid pad
They mention that GM only plans to sell the GTO for 3 years.

I liked the Generals gas tank engineering. Put it in the trunk. I felt like they were less than impressed.

Motor Trend got 13.6@104 out of it. I'd say it depends on the driver now doesn't it?

I was more interested in reading the companion article re entering the new Gto in the Silver State Classic. Unfortunately, there wasn't a bit of info on turnin, brake performance, high speed handling, and how the car negoiated the famous esses @ 100mph while finishing third in the 100mph class. I felt this would be more telling than 1/4 mile and skidpad.
