Default Hey there 🤙🏼

Hey everyone,

Thought I’d introduce myself as I’ve just joined & guess that’s the best way forward?

We’ve just bought our first classic car (‘61 Bonneville 4 door hardtop), & this looks like a good place to get some information & support?

While I do have a mechanical background (so hopefully some idea), this Classic World will be a completely new experience.

Thanks in advance from Paradise 🌴

Welcome Mate!!!

When saying Pontiacs, most folks think of GTO's and Trans Am's, I do too but those early big cars are soon cool. I've owned my TA since I was a senior in high school. In 1995 I found a 64 Bonneville and bought it it was in very very good condition. I would still have it, if hadn't been a victim of an accident.

There's a few down under members here.
Looking forward to pictures and progress!!!

Carry on, man!!!

Welcome brother,

When you say you are still waiting on your Bonneville to arrive, have you bought it within Australia or are you importing it? If the latter, from where abouts??

I'm not sure how old you are but I well remember (I'm 72), a TV program from years back called "Pick a Box". The compare was a guy called Bob Dyer. He owned from new a 1961 Bonneville 4DRHT. A friend of mine eventually bought that car but recently sold it I believe. It was Silver with a red brocade interior. Absolutely stunning car.

It's great to see our kindred spirits from Australia on here. Cheers.

Hey mate,
I didn't go the import route myself - seems a bit complicated for first time adventurer like myself.
Found the car in Brisbane (not too far from home).
Oh, and I haven't achieved your Experience Level 72 just yet - I'm al Level 55
