Default 7042274 Quadrajet Rebuilt by Cliff Ruggles

7042274 Quadrajet for 1972 400/455 with automatic. The 7042274 was originally the carb used on "high altitude" applications but this one is set up to run as a normally jetted carb for sea level with .073 jets, 42 primary metering rods and "DA" secondary rods.

It was completely refurbished by Cliff's High Performance at a cost of $367 at the time.

All the usual upgrades were done by Cliff such as rebuilding the throttle body with bronze bushings, recalibration, performance mods, upgrades for ethanol, and a running test prior to shipping. He also replaced the factory leaking bottom plugs with screw-in plugs

See the attached receipt for full specs.

It is natural grey finish because I didn't spring for the extra $125 for replating at the time due to time constraints.

I ran this carb on my Gramma's 1975 Firebird with both the 350 and the 455 in it and it ran great.

$375 plus shipping

Wonder how it would run on my 4-speed 455HO...

It ran well on my 70 455 with 6X-4 heads, auto in Gramma's 75 Firebird.
