Can someone help me ID this air cleaner?
I am one of those people who generally hates to throw things out even if they are rough because, after all, I might be able to make something out of it LOL. But, once in a while I force myself to throw some of the rough stuff out.
I got this in a pile of parts a while back. All the parts that I could ID were Pontiac. The other day I decided to pitch it since it is rusted through on the bottom of the snorkel. In between intent and action, somebody stopped me and said they thought it might be from a shaker. It seemed unlikely. But, I thought I'd ask here since I don't really know how to identify the lower portion of the air cleaner. I'll have to measure again. So, any ideas? Thanks in advance!

definitely a Pontiac Air cleaner;
Not a Firebird air cleaner; The plug on the back has me thinking that it's post 1974, because I am pretty sure those were not there on 73/74 air cleaners.

/\ look again;
The TA would have had a dropped base - this is not a dropped base.

1.5" drop base, Pontiac style mitered bottom molded duct attachment.
Quick look w/o going out & going through my stacks of deep drop T/A aircleaner bases...'73-76 era Firebird 4bbl. Through those years, there were a few slight differences, depending on PCV breather tube location, sensors, & spot welded on vac hose guides. Mike Ransom, HeldforRansom, has contributed with many pics of the different '73-79 1 1/2" drop factory air cleaner bases.. Advanced Search function works.

I stand corrected..........I just took a quick glance and saw the vacuum port sticking on the outside of the housing. Mine had it as well.

So I assume since it is not a TA and the snorkle is rusted that it doesn't have much value?

1976 Bonneville 455. Thats Identical to the one on my old Bonney. Might be same as 400. Might be suitable for a 74 GTO. since less hood clearance issues. Maybe a Can Am?

I’ve sold several of those ‘73 -‘76 air cleaners here on the forums. All were in near perfect condition with light surface rust at the most pulled off of 400 or 455 California big Pontiacs. It took a while to find buyers but being in nice condition certainly helped finding homes for them.
That one is toast, I’d be dropping it off at the curb for the scrap man. They’re not rare enough to keep one around that’s so badly rusted.
