Dexter 10-12 # trailer hub swapping
I have my old tandem axle trailer I built 40 yrs ago using mobile home axles. Been very helpful. The brakes need service,magnets esp. Anyway 20 yrs ago I got a really good deal on brand new 10000#-12000# dexter oil bath axles. How ever they are narrower than my mobile home axles. I was wondering if the new complete hub,backing plate etc. will bolt to my existing old axles,backing plate,shoes,magnets and hub. They still take they open mobile home wheel. Also I was going to convert to grease bath rather than oil. Thanks Bob.
