GUYS, THE WHEELS SHOWN WILL WORK ON YOUR 66 BONNE. GP'S WERE 5X4 3/4 1969-1987. THOSE ARE 15X6'S AND ARE CORRECT FOR 70 AND OLDER FULLSIZE, AND IF THEY ARE OFF OF A DISC BRAKE CAR, 72PONTIAC, THEY WILL WORK ON EITHER DRUM OR DISC. SO PONTIAK, THOSE ARE WHAT YOU NEED. 71-76 FULLSIZE PONTIACS 15X6 WILL WORK ALSO. THEY MADE A 15X7 5X5 THAT CAME ON 77-79 PONTIAC 400 STATION WAGONS.

Thanks everyone for all the help. Txbobcat informed me of a pretty good wheel chart on pontiacserver.com. Good info for those selling or buying wheels.

Actually there are 70 and later full size pontiacs with a 5 x 5 bolt pattern. I have found a few so far, but most are 15 x 6. The 15 x 7 are much more uncommon. There are a few different offsets as I have found. (I currently have 2 in my garage). Most of the newer style have the 3 notches in the center cap. It was the older wheels that did not have the notches.
The full size HD cars had 5 on 5 and the lighter duty came with 4 3/4 spacing from what my research tells me. Also watch out for some that have the 14" center but are 15" wheels. I currently have 2 of those as well. (I believe I currently have 9 of these rims in my garage, most of which are mid to late 70's wheels) If I can find the site again I will post it. Very handy for identifying wheels. I think it was up to 81 they could come with 5 x 5 rally II's on a big Pontiac. Actually the ones 72 pontiac are showing pictures of are the ones with a 14" type center. I have 2 of those I think. Never checked what year they were. 77-81 code HH and KD were 15x7 5x5 and 69-70 code JU were 15x6 5x5 I see no others listed in rally's. now plain steel 77-89, had 15x7 codes RE TH TA and snowflakes also were available with 5x5 bolt pattern. as far as the 14" centers and 15" rims why would you need to watch out for them if they were for a trans am they are worth about 400 each.

You need to keep an eye out as you could wind up with what happenned to me. I was uneducated in the different wheel codes (newbie to pontiacs at the time) and managed to locate a nice set of rally II's so I purchased them. Upon getting them home I noticed the difference in the centers, thus never had a complete set. Had to buy another complete set to get a matching set of coded wheels. The ones with the 14" type center wouln'd be for a Trans Am as they have the 5 x 5 bolt pattern. All T/A's were 5 x 4 3/4 IIRC.
At least I wound up with at least 6 really nice matching wheels. Ironically the second set I bought (knew when purchased this time, so got them REAL cheap) that one did not match again (different offset, and of course different code) |

i know trans ams are 4 3/4 but what i mean are the 15" with the 14" center 4 3/4 bolt pattern wheels i think they are KR code i have seen for 400 a piece even if they are not ion a set saw 2 at norwalk this year.

I am a little unclear as to what you mean by a 15" with 14" centers. Actually my 66 Bonneville came with 14" steel wheels, 5 x 5 bolt pattern, 3" hub sticking out from the drum about 1/4", 4 1/4" backspacing. If I'm thinking right, a 14" center should still fit this application. Also I'm thinking that 15 x 6 would probably be better than a 15 x 7 for a fender skirt car with not much room on the fender skirt side. a 4 1/2" backspacing would probably be best. The only reason I want to go to 15" is because they just don't make a tall 14" like they used to, I love the rally 2's, and I just can't afford a "coker" tire. What do you think? Am I thinking right?

I have sets
I have both a set of the 15x6 5 on 5 with a 15 inch center and the 15x6 with a 14 inch center also 5 on 5. I am not sure of the codes, would have to go check in the barn, but am sure the KR wheel is the 71 superduty, and JW was 70, both 4 3/4. I can sell you a set of 4 restored in basecoat clear coat for 500 the 15 inch center 600 the 14 inch center. I guess the plus side of going with the 14 inch center would be you would not have to buy trim rings, which I do have as well, but they are for the wheels with the 15 inch center, let me know if you are interested, thanks john
