I also wonder if all the 95's came with that personalized car cover you have ?
At first I thought it was just a proud owners touch , but now thinking it came with the car as part of the package.

96 and 97 show it as an option
Like a lot of the other things that were inclusive on the 95's

Damn you got everything they offered ! lol
Even the extra autocross wheel set.
I wonder if the other 5 cars with the Suspension Pkg still have their personalized car cover and wheel set intact. ?
And under 20k miles

And Mike sold you all of this without even telling you ? haha

Since it doesn't show up on the option sheet and it's a Noah California Car cover, so I just assumed it was something a previous owner bought it. The Firehawk covers were silver with the logo screened over the hoodI so I assume the Comp covers were too. They also came with a storage bag which I don't have.

Mike told me everything about the car, and I've been doing as much homework as I can, but somehow I missed that the suspension package was an option. Super cool. By the way, he also sent along an extra set of NOS decals and badges with the car Ironically, the one thing this car doesn't have is keyless entry. You'd think if you're paying $36k, you'd spring the extra $50 for keyless.

Thanks! I can't get a good look at the sheet because it's too small, but hopefully it matches what's listed here: http://www.comptaregistry.com/car/2623.html

Have been in contact with mmarx a few times in the past over the years and he is a great guy.
I wouldnt be scared at all to buy a car from him.
Was just gigging him a little about this one being so cool and everything.

I saw where he also owned Comp TA #84 T-Top
And said this Hardtop was night and day difference in handling over that one.
Seems like he is real knowledgeable about these 4th Gens too.

Maybe some other owners/cars can be found that do have an original Comp TA cover to compare.
Would be interesting to see.

First year and 1 of 6 with the suspension pkg , low mileage 6spd and tires still in the wrappers has to put it in the top specimens 27 years later. I think other buyers missed out if they passed on this one.

I think he had three Comps at one time. Definitely knowledgable about 4th gens and a great guy to deal with. This one is a gem, I'm just trying enjoy it responsibly and not to ruin it!

On that CompTA registry website there are 5 other 1995's listed with SLP Suspension option..
I thought WOW all 6 of them verified.
Further inspection shows 1 of them with incomplete data , and 1 is T-Top body.
So even all of them listed could be wrong , mistaken.

Yours isn't listed in that group.
You might can edit yours to show the SLP Suspension and Tire/Wheel options.
Noticed a few with owner comments about mileage and when bought etc....

I can only show the GM options, about like what they show on their site.
I would need the full VIN also to do it.

Not sure if SLP still does the sheets for the builds?

BVZ, the 95's are a little harder to follow, I've attached a picture showing the total Comp TA production data that came from Dave Hamburger with SLP. As Ken has said, '95s were fully optioned except for the suspension option which was available for coupes, and the R1 tire option. Car #006 came with both options. When you look up the VIN on the SLP site it won't show the R1 tire option as that was shipped separately to the dealer.
All that being said, this car is in perfect hands, Ken is the next caretaker and will enjoy car this with his son!

I’ve waited a long time for these cars to come into their own and it’s exciting to see. I’ve been collecting and following 4th gens really since they came out. People are just now starting to value the style, feel and rarity of these cars.

For anybody who is interested there is a gentleman who wrote a book on the Firehawks named Mac Logan.
He continues to advertise this book in smoke signals, and I may have even seen him advertise it here.
His book has a whole chapter on the comp T/A’s, and quite frankly, for anybody who likes the fourth gen, especially the Firehawk type cars - is a really fantastic book that you will never find in bookstores. I say that because I do not believe he used a distributor to sell the books, instead he appears to have been selling them privately;
The book covers pretty much everything that SLP was involved with Pontiac in, and a couple Camaro’s are in there too.

I’ve been after one of those books. Like the cars, he only made a limited number and unfortunately they’re sold out.

really?
I thought he still had a decent supply;
I have given plugs for his book numerous times here.
I am glad for Mac that he sold out, but sorry to hear you have been unable to get one.

He used to live in my city, which made getting a copy really easy;
I bought a copy to have as reading material before one of my kids were born, and I was really impressed by quite literally everything about the book.

Attached is a picture from Mac's great book of 7 Comp's during conversion, photo by Terry Maxwell. Terry couldn't confirm when the picture was taken but the cars match the body types of the first 7 Comp's built....is 006 in this picture?
