Question Front hub & drum interchange ???

Trying to help out my good friend here in town, Joe Parish.

He's finishing up a 9 second street/strip 63 LeMans, and needs to know what 4.75" bolt circle front hubs and drums will directly interchange onto his car.

He's thinking 64-72 GM A-body.

Can anyone help?

TIA.

Tom, Joe has Wilwood discs on it, my bad.

He just needs a pair of 4.75" bc hubs. Any ideas?

why not just use the 4 1/2 setups that are already out there? He might call Ken at East West and see if he has done any 4 3/4 setups.I know he has used a Volvo setup before.Anything can be done for money.Tom

Mucho thanks, Tom.

I believe Joe was wanting to find something local, last minute deal probably. I think his fabricator has the car ready to roll excepting for the front wheel hubs, but he just may be SOL.

I'll pass the info along.

according to my books, there is no interchange between a 61-63 tempest and the 64 or later hub setups. If you just want gto drum hubs, i have several used ones. Pm me if interested.

Have you tried to redrill the stock 4.5" front hubs for a 4.75" BC?

Reading all of this 4.5 vs. 4.75 brings back nightmares. I just last week had a verbal altercation with Stockton wheel. I special ordered some plain steels for my SD replica. I ordered both 15x8x4.5 and 15x5x4.5. Some know it all changed the order in the shop to a 4.75 bolt pattern because "No Tempest had 5x4.5 they were all 5x4.75" It actually got into a really ugly argument. They are not someone I would recommend doing business with unless you have a mountain of patience.

Needless to say they are re-doing the order to my specs not theirs. I placed this order on November 7th last year.

While I was moving mine around in the garage I had a set of '67 Camaro drum brake hubs on it and it seemed like everything fit fine. Might be worth checking out.

Mucho thanks for all the replies everyone!

Joe ended up using mid-sixties A-body hubs.

I think the issue Joe is having is one hub has an oddball sized seal that can't be found. They were both redrilled I believe before he found the seal issue. I think his plan was also to use "standard" Pontiac pattern wheels on it. Had the 9" rear axles drilled for the same 4.75 pattern.
