10 inch wide rear rims on 80 Trans Am

Looking to install 10 inch wide rims on my 80 Trans Am with factory rear discs...has anyone did this with modifications to the parking brake on the factory caliper? Or is it just easier to swap a new set of calipers without the funky lever setup for clearance?
