What's It Worth - '65 Lemans Convertible
I am starting to downsize and will be looking to sell my 1965 Lemans convertible. I am currently out of state so I only have one good picture and specs are from memory.
1965 Pontiac Lemans convertible Mayfair Maize, white top and boot, Parchment interior, Bucket seats 326 2 barrel 250HP, Automatic column shift, Power steering, Power brakes Parchment interior, Bucket seats, black carpet and dash, standard gauges Fremont built, VIN 23737Z11XXXX, 76,700 original miles. Car was originally sold in California. Went to Illinois sometime in the late 1970's to early 1980's. My dad bought it in 1982. Been in the family for 40 years. I have Protect-O-Plate and PHS. All numbers matching. Car is all factory original except for one repaint, rear window and well liner replaced, aftermarket AM/FM radio, and aftermarket outside rear view mirrors, Paint (BC,CC) is good, paint has some nicks and chips and the body has some very tiny dings but is very straight and solid. Doors shut like new. Drivers seat bottom sags badly, not sure if it is just foam or springs may be bad. Chrome is all very nice. Never any rust anywhere except for left hand section of trunk floor where top must have leaked. Center trunk section is good and no rust at all on right trunk section. Top cylinders are leaking. Car has not been driven much in last 10 years. Starts and runs goods, shifts good, goes down the road good. Transmission is leaking some, not sure from where. Overall this is a very nice driver that just needs a little maintenance. Based on this information, what is a good ballpark price for this car? Thanks, Terry Last edited by xgoater; 07-08-2022 at 11:03 PM. |

That's a very pretty car that sounds like it's in good shape for the most part. Given the originality, mileage, and long ownership history, I wouldn't let it go for under $25k. It looks like it would be a very fun cruiser.

I sold a 65 Lemans cv 2 yrs ago for 27.5k. The condition and equipment were very similar to yours, down to the leaking top cylinders! Mine was Capri Gold.
Good luck, James Q

I think the 25-28k range would be appropriate. Very nice car, one not often seen these days with all the cloning going on.
