Planning on painting the shell and misc body parts this weekend.. I've been working on the frame and getting all the suspension pieces painted the last couple weeks.
I'll try to post some pics this weekend after I get the body sprayed

Default Painted 70

Finally painted the shell and misc body parts yesterday..
Not real big on the Sierra yellow color but maybe once it's all together and with the stripes it will look ok..
Now the fun part to start assembly

That's looking great!

Don't be upset about the yellow - it's those off color cars you never see that draw all the attention.

GREAT work on the car.
Now is the time to change the color if you don't like it.

If you plan on ever selling it , you will be extremely disappointed with how little interest it brings.
And low ball offers , allowing ample slack for a color change.

At car shows , it might be like The Boss says.
Sympathy / Empathy type admirers.

Brutally honest I realize
Its the very worst color for 70 Judge .... IF you ever try to sell it.

If you are keeping it long term and want it to be Sierra , then that's great.
It is your car 100%

Baron your opinion is valid, but Brent has done the right thing here and has kept this car in it's original color.

Personally I feel Sierra Yellow is a knockout color with the factory green stripes.

Most people buying a car want an original correct car not a color changed incorrect car.

This car is too rare and special, especially being a close ratio M21 4 speed 4.33 posi GTO Judge.

Brent, great job ,thank you for respecting the originality of your Judge and keeping the car correct.

I understand what your saying about the color for resale but I'm to much a purist on these type cars and just couldn't bring myself to do a color change.
I do plan on selling the car after completion and just hope the level of restoration I'm trying to do will outway the color? Some people like different colors so you never know. It's gonna have to be a chance I take I guess? The car was a 1 owner all #,s matching and I have all paperwork from new with .buildsheet. Imho it deserved to be redone as it come from new ?

Thanks Rich. I agree with you on the stripes as I think they will help the color a little bit.
Also it seems some of these older colors done in today's newer paint systems and clear coats look much better than they did back when these cars were new.
I hope that's the case with this when I'm done.

I had a sierra yellow 70 vert. Very original car. 4-speed, factory A/C. Took it to a car show, even though it was a little run down. Overheard a comment "Not sure about the baby ***** yellow. Ha Ha Ha"

Who really cares what other people think, but for resale, it will have an impact.

If you are selling it, I would paint it Black, Atoll or Bermuda, not that you asked my opinion.

I'm one that appreciates the off colors more these days - I think you'll be fine with the original combo. It's looking great!

Agreed. I DIG the yellow. I know I’m In the minority, but the colors I would not want are the colors everyone else does want. (black, OO, atoll, cardinal red, etc...) I would take Cameo White, Palisade Green, Granada Gold, Sierra Yellow, etc... over those other colors every single time.

So just to add to the choir, Brent. I really appreciate the fact that you left it original. It will be stunning. You are doing some amazing work.

Looks fantastic Brent! As far as color, it's your car and that's totally up to you. Definitely cool to keep a car like that original. Your old Limelight green 69 Judge (still can't believe you sold it) was no mainstream color but was one of the best looking Judges I've ever seen, the stripes made that car. I hope to see this one at the SVGTO show in August.

Thanks Chris.. Sometimes I do miss the Limelight green Judge. I was trying to have the 70 ready for GTOAA nationals but to many other projects and work around the house are preventing that. Will have to try to have done for the SVGTO show.

Sierra Yellow is beautiful with the stripes....I had a 70 Sierra Judge in the 90's, and I got many positive comments. That being said, Sierra Yellow looks kinda blah if its just a GTO with no spoiler and stripes..

Default Little more progress

Got the body sitting on back on the frame temporarily .
Will lift back up to install motor /trans and exhaust once all that is ready.
I needed to free up some garage space also .

Yea I am still undecided if i want the "clean look" or the original look of body color overspray. It just seemed like a lot of contrast from the yellow to the black on floors and I thought it would look sloppy? I realize that is the correct way and still could do the overspray when I lift body off to install engine/trans and exhaust? I could not see any evidence of remaining overspray when I originally lifted the body but this car had a dealer applied undercoat and was a mess to get off without taking the original paint with it.

So what do you guys think? Should I do the light overspray or leave it all black to the rocker pinchwelds?
Thanks, Brent
