Default Question......for the wagon guys....

Attempting to remove the wide stainless trim on rear side fixed windows...on a 63 Bonneville wagon...

The top sections are not cooperating with my trim removal tool..in several areas.

Are there some nuts or screws on the inside I'm missing?.....Thanks

I have the same car, but I have never removed those moldings.

I am attaching pics of three pages from my 63 Body manual, I hope they are helpful!

I agree, it could be much clearer. At least it tells you what order they have to come off in and that there are screws....somewhere.

I think those window moldings are especially difficult to remove without damaging them. I found some moldings for my driver window frame and the guy who had them couldn't get them off without bending!

Good luck,
James Q

I've removed all 4 door window moldings already....and they are actually pretty easy...with a bit of thought and patience..

I'm going to have another go at the problem ones tomorrow....but "thou shall not bend".......

They say we are Darksiders.......but if you have a 60's Safari......you are on the darkside....of the darkside.....

Nobody seems to know much about them..

Ah well, if it was easy, it wouldn't be any fun!

Default Success

I could see how somebody could easily destroy these moldings...if they were in a hurry...

There are 5 green clips.....that are screwed to the body......from the inside and are likely installed ....before the glass goes in...

I was actually able to slide the top trim off the clips....

How very true!
I am happy to have no stainless trim on my ‘63 Catalina Safari. Glad you figured it out.
