Default Steel rims and dog dish caps

I’d really like to run dog dish caps on my ‘63 LeMans to replace the Unilug mags presently on it. I figure shipping might be costly but it doesn’t hurt to see if anyone has a set for sale. I would also be interested in just the rims if that’s all you have, as I do see dog dish caps occasionally for sale. I would like to buy 15” though, as 14” tires are getting rare. Thanks!

The cost to ship rims is expensive.

Possible sources for the rims - Check out salvage yards that have older cars. Elmer's in Fountain City, WI will probably have them if you don't find anything closer to Avoca.

Or you could buy new in whatever size you want. Summit has Wheel Vintique's in 14, 15 and 17" sizes that could work for your needs. https://www.summitracing.com/search/...ques-62-series

I originally acquired GM 15x7's with 4.25" BS from Kadinger's Auto Salvage near Menomonie, WI back in 1995. In 2013, I ordered WV 17x7's with 4.625" BS from Summit.

One photo with the 15's and one with the 17's - both with the same poverty caps.

One important thing to keep in mind is the 5 on 4.5” bolt circle unique to the ‘61 - ‘63 Tempest.

Time is too valuable to be junk yard hopping right now though. . Like B-man said I need the 5x4.5 bolt circle, looking on Summit for example, about $90 each before shipping, and I’d still need to paint them. That would be 6” wide.
Going to 7” would be $135 plus ship , and need to paint. Then still find poverty caps. Yikes.
If someone had a set laying around it might be worth it for me to pay shipping.

Drake

You don't need to go junk yard "hopping". Get on the phone and make a call.

I called Kadinger's and they told me they would have 5 for me by the time I got there.

As far as painting, most likely any used rims you find will need to be painted. Been there, did that, done that.

With Summit, you don't pay shipping on orders over $100, which you would qualify for.
