Hazard/Turn Flasher part numbers
Is there a difference between these flashers? I’m only seeing reference to the 552 style flasher and some call it turn while some call it hazard. One mounted to the fuse block and one under steering column support area. I thought I read somewhere about one working correctly with 4 bulbs and another only flashes correctly with 2?

The Hazard for your 68 should be rated for 6 bulbs, I use a 175 flasher for the Hazards. Not sure it's the 'correct' one however.
The 552 should be for your regular signals.

Having plucked so many of those in the early 80's, i's say the long tubed "Heavy Duty" plays well in 68-70 A-bodies.
Yet, actually went through the many pods by testing in my car, and tossing the ones that flashed to quick, too slow, too tinny, and sure enough the good looking originals played well. |

Thanks guys, I appreciate the info.
Checking back through old pics this car came to me with a 175 under the column and a 552 on the fuse block (with the way things have gone with this car that should imply that is exactly where they don’t belong, lol) . All I could find local was 552’s so I grabbed 2 to try in both locations temporarily. I finally have turn signals front/rear and 3/4’s of my hazards (only missing left rear). I’m on the right track finally and know that the old flashers I had are garbage too. |

My 69 is just like this one. 175 flasher, for the hazard. I believe this is my original one too...
