Transmission leak question
When I jacked my car up in the front to remove front jack stands my tranny leaked a lot of fluid out of the hole shown in attached picture in the 9-10 oclock area. This is on the driver side, behind and above transmission pan.
Is this fluid from converter? Why is it leaking? Would find it hard to believe it was designed this way? I have a TCI TH-400 Competition Transmission with a 10" 3500 stall converter Also a B&M deep transmission (8 qt) pan I have confirmed that the fill line on the dipstick is level with the top of the pan I measured and topped off level at 170 degrees engine temp after having went through all the gears. Also does anyone make a shifter cable bracket that goes on the side of a TH400 with a Deep B&M pan. B&M makes one for TH400 but a customer on Summit claimed it doesnt work with the deep pan. Mine is self made but not real well... |

Apparently this is in the area where the speedo would connect. Any ideas on best way to fix as I am not using a speedo?

You could try a small cup plug of the proper size, tapped in should seal it up. As far as the bracket for the shifter cable and the B&M deep pan, I'm using the bracket that came with my Pro ratchet shifter with no issues. This bracket should work for you. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/bmm-35498

Your welcome. I just looked at my spare tranny and both holes are blind holes. You shouldn't have anything leaking out that small hole. Ya just tap and plug it or a small cup plug.
