The following is for anyone associated with PE magazine or anyone with a similar engine setup:
I just got the latest issue (May/June 02) of PE and there's an article, "Turnabout is Fair Play", about Jim Wangers' Pontiac powered '87 Monte Carlo. The car has A/C with E-heads. I would like to know if they had any problems with compressor installation. Were the stock brackets used and did they need modifying? The OE setup requires a short, studded head bolt to secure the lower bracket. Was an OE bolt used on the Monte? So far all cars I've seen with E-heads did not have A/C. I noticed in the picture the A/C belt was removed. I hope it is a functional unit and not just set up for looks. Thanks for any help. |
